How do I log in to the Internet Bank without a card reader?

You can still log in using:

  • your passnumber and one-time code sent to your mobile
  • a card reader from another bank or building society - as long as it accepts your card.
Log in to the Internet Bank

Forgotten your login details and can't borrow a card reader?

As long as you haven't registered for internet banking in the last seven days, you can reset your passnumber and retrieve your customer number - by re-registering.

You'll need:

  • Your account details

We will send you two codes, one by text message and one by email. Codes expire after 10 minutes and can be resent a maximum of three times.

If you can't receive the codes, we'll be able to post your details instead.

Re-register for internet banking

Once you're logged in, you'll still need a card reader to pay someone new or update your personal details.

Order a new card reader for free

Most of our branches have card readers you can take away with you, or you can order one online and we'll post it to you (this will take around five days).

If you’ve recently registered for the Internet Bank, it can take up to 7 days for your card reader to arrive.
