How do I cancel a Direct Debit?

Notify the company you’re paying before cancelling

A Direct Debit is an agreement between you and a company (such as a phone company or a gym). You’ll need to let them know before you cancel, or you could be charged for missed payments. Direct Debits are covered by the Direct Debit guarantee.

Can't find the Direct Debit you want to cancel?

If it’s not listed alongside your other Direct Debits, it might be a recurring card payment.
