Set up or change your mortgage Direct Debit

If you have a Nationwide mortgage and want to change your existing Direct Debit (DD) date or the account that you pay your monthly mortgage payment from, then you can request these changes using our online forms.

How does it work?

Direct Debits normally take at least two weeks to update. This means your payment date may stay the same the month you request a change and your new payment date arrangement will start the following month or even the month after. Be aware, depending on when you request your new payment date to start could mean you'll need to make 2 payments close together.

We'll send you a letter within 5 working days to confirm when your payment date will change, so that you can make sure you're ready for the change.

The table below gives you examples of timings and how they could affect your payments and payment dates.

20th July 28th of the month 1st of the month 1st September Payment will be collected as usual on 28th July and 28th August. New payment will be collected from 1st September.

Please note: We only collect payments between the 1st & 28th of the month.
