What to do if your PIN is locked
We'll lock your PIN if you enter it incorrectly 3 times. We do this in case it's someone else trying to use your account.
Note:
If your PIN is locked, contactless will only work for a certain number of transactions. To get it working again, you'll need to unlock your PIN and then make a payment using your card with the PIN.
How to unlock your PIN
You can only unlock your PIN at a cash machine. This can be any cash machine in the UK with the LINK sign on it. To unlock your PIN:
- Insert your card into the cash machine
- Enter your PIN
- Select other and then PIN services
- Choose PIN unlock
The screen will then display the word 'successful' and your our card will be unlocked.
You cannot use your card reader to unlock your PIN.
If you don't know your PIN
If you can’t remember your PIN, you can request a new one. We’ll post a new PIN to you within 3 to 5 working days.
Once you have a new PIN, you’ll need to use a cash machine or make a Chip and PIN purchase to get it working again.
Banking without your PIN
You can still get cash or make a payment without your PIN. Visit us in branch with some ID, such as a passport or driving licence. A member of our team will help you.
